While standard commercial woodworking catalogs typically top out around 10 to 15 HP for cyclone systems, massive industrial manufacturing facilities use custom-engineered central dust collection systems that can easily exceed 50 to 100 horsepower.

The ideal size depends entirely on your shop's layout and usage; a 1.5 to 2 HP unit is perfect for a small shop running one tool at a time, whereas a 5 to 10 HP cyclone is required for commercial operations running multiple machines simultaneously.
