2 HP Dust Collector

A 2 hp dust collector sits right in the sweet spot between a compact single-machine unit and a full multi-station system — enough blower power to run one or two nearby machines with real static pressure to spare. We carry two very different takes on the 2 HP class: a straightforward single-stage bag collector and a fully automated HEPA cyclone system, so you can pick based on CFM rating and how much automation you actually want.

2 HP Dust Collectors In Stock

Maksiwa CP/2.C Dust Collector — $699.00

A 2 HP, 220V single-phase blower rated at 1,490 CFM through two inlets (5" main + 4" split), with 1-micron filtration and a 37.4-gallon collection bag. Built-in wheels and a straightforward single-stage design make it a practical step up from a 1 HP unit for a shop running two nearby machines. View this dust collector →

Laguna Dust Collector P|Flux: 2 MDCPF22201 — $4,199.00

Also a 2 HP motor, but built as a two-stage cyclone system rated up to 1,740 CFM maximum airflow (1,166 CFM measured at the shop connection), with automatic HEPA filter cleaning, a 46-gallon smart drum, and remote control operation in an enclosed, sound-dampened cabinet. View this dust collector →

Comparing CFM Rating and Design

Both of these are true 2 hp dust collectors, but the CFM rating tells two different stories. The Maksiwa CP/2.C posts a straightforward 1,490 CFM through its blower — that's the number you'll actually see at the machine, since it's a single-stage system with no separation stage ahead of the filter. The Laguna P|Flux: 2 is rated up to 1,740 CFM at the cyclone itself, but Laguna publishes a more realistic 1,166 CFM figure measured at the shop-side connection point, since cyclone separation and HEPA filtration both add resistance to the airstream. If you're comparing 2 hp dust collector CFM ratings across brands, always check whether the number is measured at the machine or at the collector — it changes what "best CFM rating" actually means for your setup.

Choosing Between These Two Models

• Want the lowest price and a simple, proven design: the Maksiwa CP/2.C at $699, with straightforward single-stage bag filtration.
• Want two-stage separation, HEPA filtration, and automation: the Laguna P|Flux: 2 at $4,199, with automatic filter cleaning and remote control.
• Running two machines off one collector: the CP/2.C's two inlets (5" + 4") are built for exactly that; the P|Flux: 2's single 8" inlet with splitter also handles two ports.

Why Shop 2 HP Dust Collectors With Us

We carry both ends of the 2 hp dust collector market side by side — an affordable single-stage blower and a fully automated HEPA cyclone system — so you can compare CFM rating, filtration type, and price before deciding. Every spec on this page comes straight from the manufacturer's documentation, and we're happy to help you figure out which one actually fits your shop before you buy.

FAQ

What's the CFM rating on a 2 HP dust collector?

It depends on the design. Our single-stage Maksiwa CP/2.C is rated at 1,490 CFM through its blower. Our Laguna P|Flux: 2 cyclone system is rated up to 1,740 CFM at the collector, but around 1,166 CFM measured at the shop connection once cyclone separation and HEPA filtration are factored in.

Which is the best 2 HP dust collector for CFM rating?

If you're comparing raw published airflow, the Laguna P|Flux: 2's 1,740 CFM figure is higher, but it's measured before filtration resistance. For a straightforward, real-world CFM number at the machine, the Maksiwa CP/2.C's 1,490 CFM single-stage rating is easier to compare directly.

Can a 2 HP dust collector run two machines at once?

Both of ours are built with two inlets for exactly that — the Maksiwa CP/2.C splits into a 5" and 4" port, and the Laguna P|Flux: 2 splits its 8" main inlet into two 4" ports. Just keep in mind CFM drops when both ports are open at once.

Is a 2 HP dust collector a step up from a 1 HP model?

Yes — a 2 HP motor gives you meaningfully more airflow and static pressure than a 1 HP unit, which is what lets these models run two inlets instead of one. If you're outgrowing a 1 HP collector, this is the natural next size up.
