Choosing the Right Dust Collector for Your Shop
- Single machine, home or hobby shop: a 1 HP portable unit in the 500–650 CFM range.
- A few machines running at once: step up to 3–7.5 HP with multi-bag filtration.
- Full production floor with central ducting: 10–20 HP systems with thousands of CFM and HEPA-class filtration.
- Large-scale or metal fabrication with fire risk: look for fire-resistant filtration and NFPA-compliant models, or an outdoor-installed system entirely.
